چکیده

Background Percolating dissolved organic matter (DOM) from the topsoil is considered main source of subsoil carbon (OC) in temperate soils, but knowledge about its influence on OC storage and structure-forming processes limited. Aims We conducted a 30-day incubation experiment with artificial soils to study effects percolating DOM soil texture turnover initial structure formation. Methods Artificial contrasting texture, identical mineral composition, were used mimic conditions, where surfaces free OM come into contact DOM. After incubation, we assessed solution exchange, covers minerals, microbial community turnover, aggregate formation stability. Results A higher sand content caused lower porosity, accompanied by moisture content. In contrast, retention (21% input), activity, size unaffected texture. The covered 10% within an otherwise OC-free matrix. large, water-stable aggregates occurred all was pronounced clay-rich (58% mass contribution), which also supported mechanical stability aggregates. Conclusions mineralization are decoupled pore sizes exchange driven composition input. biochemical processing can induce large Here, presence fine particles enhances aggregates, irrespective their surface charge or sorptive properties.

Sulfamethazine Sorption to Soil: Vegetative Management, pH, and Dissolved Organic Matter Effects.

Elucidating veterinary antibiotic interactions with soil is important for assessing and mitigating possible environmental hazards. The objectives of this study were to investigate the effects of vegetative management, soil properties, and >1000 Da dissolved organic matter (DOM) on sulfamethazine (SMZ) behavior in soil. Sorption experiments were performed over a range of SMZ concentrations (2.5-...

Interactions of carbamazepine in soil: effects of dissolved organic matter.

Pharmaceutical compounds (PCs) and dissolved organic matter (DOM) are co-introduced into soils by irrigation with reclaimed wastewater. We targeted carbamazepine (CBZ) as a model compound to study the tertiary interactions between relatively polar PCs, DOM, and soil. Sorption-desorption behavior of CBZ was studied with bulk clay soil and the corresponding clay size fraction in the following sys...

Sorption and fractionation of dissolved organic matter and associated phosphorus in agricultural soil.

Mobility of dissolved organic matter (DOM) strongly affects the export of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) from soils to surface waters. To study the sorption and mobility of dissolved organic C and P (DOC, DOP) in soil, the pH-dependent sorption of DOM to samples from Ap, EB, and Bt horizons from a Danish agricultural Humic Hapludult was investigated and a kinetic model applicable in field-scal...

simulation and experimental studies for prediction mineral scale formation in oil field during mixing of injection and formation water

abstract: mineral scaling in oil and gas production equipment is one of the most important problem that occurs while water injection and it has been recognized to be a major operational problem. the incompatibility between injected and formation waters may result in inorganic scale precipitation in the equipment and reservoir and then reduction of oil production rate and water injection rate. ...

Importance of microbial soil organic matter processing in dissolved organic carbon production.

Soil dissolved organic carbon (DOC) sources and its seasonal dynamics are poorly known. We aimed to determine the contribution of plant and soil organic matter (SOM) to size classes of DOC in a field experiment with C3 to C4 vegetation change on two soil types through different seasons. Stable isotope ratios of DOC size classes were measured using size exclusion chromatography (SEC) coupled onl...
